I am originally from the UK, and have taught EFL, EAP, EYL/CLIL in primary, secondary, higher education in the UK, Turkey, Spain and Hungary. My main focus has always been teacher training (TESOL), both pre-service and in-service and have worked with teachers from around the world. My second focus is study skills especially academic reading and writing and intercultural communication. I obtained my Masters of Education (primary TESOL) from Leeds University UK and my Doctor in Education (primary teacher education) from the Open University in 2011. My research interests are: Young learner teacher education (Jó gyakorlatok a nyelvpedagógus-képzésben) Mentoring beginner teachers, reflective practice (Kezdő tanárok / tanítók mentorálása); Early language learning and teaching (Korai nyelvtanulás / tanítás); Researching young learners (Kutatási módszerek/eszközök a korai nyelvtanulási területen); Bilingualism, multilingualism plurilingualism intercultural competence (kétnyelvűség, többnyelvűség, plurilingualism, interkulturális kompetencia); Learning strategies (Tanulási stratégiák egyéni különbségek és tanuló-tréning). I presents at conferences and have published in these areas. I am also an active IELTS oral/writing examiner and oral examiner for Cambridge English exams (including the young learner suite).
